What is CDHCI?

Client‑Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) is an Alberta program that lets eligible Home & Community Care clients choose their preferred home‑care provider and have services invoiced directly to AHS/Alberta Blue Cross up to pre‑authorized monthly hours. You keep control of your schedule and care plan — we handle the staffing, delivery, and invoicing.

Eligibility (overview)

  • Assessed and approved by AHS for Home & Community Care
  • Care needs can be safely met at home
  • Client (or designate) can direct services and confirm hours

Funding & billing

  • AHS pre‑approves hours per month

Add‑on options

  • Blend CDHCI with private‑pay hours if you need more time
  • Short‑term respite or extra supports available
  • Care coordination with family and clinicians

Details vary by AHS zone and your authorization. We’ll review your approval letter and tailor a plan that fits.
